Available Seeds to Heirloom and open pollinated tomatoes of all shapes, sizes, colors and tastes.
"Heirloom" means, that the tomato has a history of existence for many, many years. The true meaning of Heirloom, would be a tomato variety passed down through a specific family, like other heirlooms are. Open Pollinated means that the tomato is left to polllinate/reproduce itself by natural means. These tomatoes may be mutants (a natural change in the genetic code to cause a new variety), a natural, or deliberate cross pollination occurrence, that created a new variety, but through natural selection, the variety now produces seeds that are "true to type," or just like the parent plant. NO STOCK AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME, ALL LEFT BEHIND IN EVACUATION.
The Red Boar Tomato, is a natural mutant, that was found. Mutant seeds, are already true to type.
The Copia tomato variety, is an example of a stabilized cross. Two tomatos were deliberately cross pollinated, to get a new variety. The the seeds of the fruit of the cross were grown, for several generations, until all of the seeds produced the desired trait (s).
